Sympathy Letter to Friend on his Long Aliment
Address, City, State
My Dear XYZ,
When I knocked at your doors some time back, your wife told me that you were in the hospital. Neither did your wife attach any seriousness to this ailment, nor did I attach any importance to it. I just took it in the routine way of life.
Yesterday I called at your house again presuming you must have been all right by now. It is over two months now, and when I learned this time, that you were still in the hospital, I naturally was anxious. My inquiries were met with a worried look and nobody was certain to give me an answer.
I wanted to make a call on you at the hospital but it was already late and the visiting hours were over. Moreover, I had already booked my seat for the return journey. I missed the chance to see you.
I am writing you this to assure you that my sympathies are not verbal. Never hesitate to write to me for any service that I can do. I can fully realize your difficulties and heartily wish to serve you. I would be back in the capital sometime in the next week, and then I shall make it a point to meet you.
Meanwhile, I shall pray to GOD for your speedy recovery.
Sympathy Letter for Losing a Job
Address, City, State
Dear Mr. XYZ
At the secretariat, I met Dr. James Smith. We talked casually about so many things and so many people including you. It was then that he told me that you had lost your job and were on the hunt for a new one. It is a pity that you are unemployed once again. But this should not discourage you anymore. Losing a job and hunting for a new one is just a routine for you.
Why should you then get discouraged? Though with the advancing age you have lost the impetus, you must have definitely gained in experience. In the profession that you have adopted, there shall always be a shortage. So you will be always in demand. Probably this is the very reason that you are quarrelsome and will not submit yourself to the yoke of service.
He did not tell me that he found you depressed but from New York after reassigning my assignment. It was your words that have kept me active since then. When I write all these they are just a repetition of your own words. So don’t lose your courage.
And one more word before I end. I do not know if you have any bank balance left. I do not know how you have been spending your income. Now some financial aid does not hesitate to write to me. When an emergency arises, I may not be able to contribute liberally, but my income can definitely be squeezed to meet your requirements too. This is what I can assure you.
May GOD help you with love.
